Mounted on the suction side of the pump, the check valves self-seal in case of pump shutdown. This prevents oil injection (by suction during air passage) into the pump body during shutdown, the main cause of damage during startup. The check valves can also be used to maintain a certain degree of vacuum on an installation (vacuum circuit, tanks, autoclaves, etc.)
