We recommend using a compressed-air hose with a minimum internal diameter of 8 mm for the CLIM 500 and CLIM 900, and a hose with a minimum internal diameter of 12 mm for the CLIM 1500 and CLIM 2500, to ensure optimum cooling-system performance.
** The kilocalorie is a unit of energy. One kilocalorie (1,000 cal) is the amount of energy required to reduce the temperature of one litre of water by 1 °C.
APPLICATION

Novacom develops and designs Vortex cabinet coolers in France for the cooling of industrial electrical cabinets.
In industrial environments, electrical cabinets are regularly exposed to high temperatures, which can cause PLCs, variable-speed drives, power supplies and other electronic components to overheat.
These temperature increases can lead to malfunctions, production stoppages or equipment failures. A Vortex cabinet cooler maintains a stable temperature inside the cabinet to protect the equipment.
The cooler also creates a slight positive pressure inside the cabinet, helping to limit the ingress of dust, particles and other contaminants that could damage electrical components.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Made from stainless steel, Vortex cabinet coolers consist of several components, including vortex generators. These generators allow the temperature and cold-air flow rate to be adjusted precisely.
Novacom offers 4 vortex generators suited to different electrical-cabinet volumes. Compressed air passes through the profiled fixed generator, causing the air to rotate at very high speed inside the Vortex tube.
This rotation creates an energy separation. Hot air is directed towards the hot outlet, while a throttle valve precisely controls its discharge.
Part of the airflow is then forced back towards the centre of the tube, where it undergoes a heat exchange with the outer airflow.
This phenomenon produces cold air with a temperature difference of up to 40 °C compared with the incoming compressed air. The technology provides industrial cooling without refrigerant and without moving mechanical parts.
OPERATING DIAGRAM

INSTALLATION
To install a Vortex cabinet cooler, first drill a Ø 25 mm hole in the top of the electrical cabinet. Insert the cooler, then tighten the locknut to ensure a perfect seal.
Next, perforate the cold-air distribution hose near the areas most sensitive to heat to provide targeted cooling for the components.
Secure the hose with cable ties to ensure long-lasting support without obstructing other equipment.
Then connect the Vortex cabinet cooler to a compressed-air network set to 7 bar. Install the filter regulator and the solenoid valve as close as possible to the cooler to ensure a clean air supply and precise flow control.
Finally, install the thermostat, which automatically controls the solenoid valve to maintain a constant temperature inside the cabinet.
The thermostat is connected directly to the electrical panel and then to the solenoid valve. After setting the required temperature, check that the cabinet is perfectly sealed.
NOVACOM Vortex cabinet coolers are designed for electrical cabinets up to approximately 2 m³, depending on the vortex generator used. They provide a reliable compressed-air industrial cooling solution, with no refrigerant, no maintenance and rapid installation.
